Significant Upgrade to National Provider System for Delta Dental Plan Association
(Cork, Ireland) September 16 2007
- DeCare Systems Ireland Ltd, a leading software development and Internet solutions provider, today announced the upgrade to an Internet-based National Healthcare Provider System for the Delta Dental Plan Association(DDPA), a leading network of healthcare insurers in the United States. The 39 insurance companies who make up the network use this key application to retrieve healthcare provider fee information to assist in pricing insurance claims. The high throughput system provides a secure online system-to-system interface allowing enterprise claim processing systems to process data securely and efficiently.
The recent release of the DSI designed and developed Spring-powered Java platform provides additional innovative functionality enhancements, including an on demand IRS extract file facility which enables the DDPA to create extract files for the IRS on a quarterly basis. This module creates extract files for the IRS, loads the output received from the IRS into the DDPA system and provides web based functionality as well as detailed reports to help member companies correct any IRS errors.
As well as general maintenance to the system, the upgrade provided an enhanced audit extract files module to improve synchronisation of member plan files and the National Provider Files. Advanced audit file comparisons can now be made between the organisations to identify, record, and report file differences.
This National provider system is held in high regard within the DDPA as it facilitates significant operational efficiencies and improved responsiveness to the group of healthcare insurers.
